S'il Vous Plait
Last week the weather in Louisville, Kentucky, was, shall we say, unpredictable. Ice cancelled school. Then there was rain, snow, and our week finished with temperatures in the 70’s. With these abrupt changes, Louisville, of all the places I have lived, requires a daily check-in on the weather app and a constant shift in styles.
Navigating the end of winter into the beginning of spring with a sense of fashion and functionality requires a daily dose of creativity. If I learned anything from my few years of studying abroad, I have realized layers are key to unpredictable weather. Sweaters, button-up-shirts, scarfes, and jackets become your best friends and help you adapt to the sun, wind, and rain.
Let me also mention my favorite color combination other than black and white is black and brown. For all "y’all folks" that are afraid of mixing black and brown (you know who you are) let me say that the Europeans are experts at this combo. They layer these colors with style and confidence. I am still waiting for a week with all high temps, but until then let’s find some layers, s’il vous plait.
