Support Small Businesses this Holiday Season
Next Saturday, November 30, 2024, is small business Saturday. During the pandemic, as well as today, I find it especially important to send love to local businesses that make our communities unique. Many of these businesses put their heart and soul into their work; it is important to contribute to their success.
Let me highlight a handful. Recently, I purchased my perfect holiday outfit from the fashion-friendly Belle Monde Boutique in St. Matthews. If you need an easy hostess gift, I highly recommend buying the holiday treats and bread at Blue Dog Bakery on Frankfort Avenue. Over the years, I have gotten to know the staff by name. While they have a Louisville branch, this might be the only semi-national brand listed. I wanted to note the excellent customer service and how buying coffee in the local shop often makes me feel like visiting a small town.
A few years back, I bought a real “mini” Christmas tree at Mahonia that I still have kept alive and enjoy decorating each year. Red Tree is known for its beautiful furniture that has been extremely popular over the year as folks have spent more time at home. Their holiday ornament selection is worth a visit if only to walk under the spectacle of lights and take in their charming variety of pieces. For those who shop online, Kentucky for Kentucky will not disappoint, and the sweatshirt I am wearing as the cover photo in this article is one of my favorite purchases from their brand. Check out all the restaurants and boutiques below, and don’t forget to tag me with your local favorites.
Also, don’t forget to leave reviews, likes, and posts for your favorite businesses as they near the year end holiday hustle as a means of support. As a blogger and local small business owner, I can testify that your recommendations and love means the world. Happy Holidays!
